In the last Garzon’s judicial operation (jan 20th) against alleged Al-Qaeda collaborators, a Pakistani named Abdul Razzaq Sadiq was detained. It has been discovered he is Executive Secretary’s of the Catalan Socialist Party (the branch of Zapatero’s party in Catalonia) in the Catalonian city Ciutat Vella. Interior Ministry’s press release published his surnames changed, so no one could guess who he really was. In all police’s documents, his surnames were in right order, so the change was made only afterwards in the Interior Ministry’s press release.

Three days after, they were freed by a Garzón’s resolution, which said that he didn’t have proofs which could link them with the terrorist group’s financing scheme. But they had been accused of sending illegally money to Pakistan.

This case makes me think: why some people are detained and only three days after the judge “discovers” that there was no reason for that arrest? It’s ridiculous. All were freed. Spanish police rarely messes up in these cases as they have truly good experience in dealing with terrorist thugs. So why on earth did this happen? Yes, I know that “people are innocent till proven guilty”, but isn’t this a kind of “rare” thing to arrest several people on these so grave charges to free them only three days after?

Catalonia is one of the areas of Spain where Islamic terrorism (if we consider included in that term also financing, training and recruiting jihadoterrorists) is most spread. Last people arrested were accused of forging documents for Al-Qaeda (scroll down for English translation). The most important groups in Catalonia are both Salafists and Hibz ut-Tahrir (the one who asked for the creation of global Caliphate in an event in Indonesia, which recruits mostly online).

The Anti-Defamation League said Tuesday that a survey it commissioned found nearly a third of Europeans polled blame Jews for the global economic meltdown and that a greater number think Jews have too much power in the business world. The organization, which says its aim is “to stop the defamation of Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment to all,” says the seven-nation survey confirms that anti-Semitism remains strong. The poll included interviews with 3,500 people – 500 each in Austria, Britain, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Spain. It says that in Spain, 74 percent of those asked say they feel it is “probably true” that Jews hold too much sway over the global financial markets. That is the highest percentage in the survey.

via 1/3 of Europeans: Jews caused meltdown | Jewish News | Jerusalem Post . It’s shameful but yes, Spain continues to be one of the most judeophobe countries in Europe. Some days ago I wrote for Roots a piece about Catalonia’s Autonomous Government not wanting the Israeli Ambassador to tell MSM about Judeophobe attacks:

After denying the truth and not condemning the judeophobic attacks, Montilla has asked the Ambassador not to publish any of those “incidents”, but to tell them to the Generalitat (that is, Catalonia’s Autonomous Government), whose responsibility is the security of all citizens, including, of course, those of the Jewish community”.

After that, I received a mail from Wynne, pointing me this article from Brussels Journal and telling me Judeophobia was much more spread that my post there showed. As ever, I am late in answering but I am going to do it now. That post did not have the aim of considering Catalonia as much more judeophobe than the rest of Spain, but to show the deepness of the problem. If the authority, instead of going after the assailants, is going after the people who denounce the attacks, we have a real BIG problem. No one has ever said publicly something like that, but it shows the information’s control of the Generalitat (in this, yes, Generalitat controls A LOT what news are published and which ones shouldn’t be).

After that, other attacks have taken place  (in one of them, a guard from a Barcelona’s Jewish center was beaten heavily) with virtually NO publicity in the Spanish MSM.

Yes, the Socialists have supported the demonstration against Operation Cast Lead in which some people shouted Allah Akbar (a very worrying thing by the way), but till that moment, NO high-ranking official had made such a statement. Don’t know if I explain myself, but for me this is an step forward in the Judeophobic ideas of Socialists (and in general leftists) in this country.

Five years after March 11th, which made Spain a target of the Islamist terror, Interior Minister has stated that “Spain is now a source of Human Resources for future terrorists”, “situated in the 1st place in the ranking of their preferred recruitement’s places for Al-Qaeda’s recruitment in Europe, and, at the same time, it continues to be a target of international terrorism”.

Moreover, in the last report from National Police and Civil Guard in the subject to the Interior Minister, Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, it’s underlined that the true objective of Al-Qaeda is to “submit Al-Andalus”.

Since March 11th, State Security Forces have detained 384 alleged Islamist terrorists.

Some of the them had the objective of recruiting, teaching, training and sending mujahidins to Irak. Others only did “apology of terrorism or defense and proud display of extremist ideas”, according to the counterterrorist sources of the National Police, or they just financed Jihad by sending money from Spain, for example, using the zakat or alms obtained thank to mosques.

Spanish Confederation of Police (CEP) points out that, in these last years, around 4 muslim residents in Spain per month have gone to Iraq, Chcchenya or Afghanistan, to get training, a number that is reduced to a “hundred” since March 11th 2004 bombings, by the antiterrorist services.

Most of the Islamist terrorist choose the Muslim communities in Catalonia to create sleeping cells. 80% of the police operations have taken place in Catalonia and 31% of the 130 Islamists who are now in prison were arrested in Catalonia.

The number of arrests have descended (108 in 2005, 56 in 2006, 47 in 2007, 65 in 2008), but Ceuta y Melilla, Andalucía, Madrid y Valencia, are other important Jihadist places in Spain.

“We can’t forget that Al Qaeda always points out Ceuta y Melilla in their statements as a consideration to their satellite groups, Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and Islamic Moroccan Combatant Group (GICM)”, according to the same sources.

Even if there have been 384 arrested, only 130 are now in prison (33%) Why? “In terrorism matters, prevention is fundamental”, according to police sources, “even if judges do not think the same”.

The National Court has established that “Jihadist terrorism has some peculiarities which makes it difficult to apply the jurisprudence laid on other terrorist cases”, according to the last report of the Judicial Power.” A democratic State cannot punish religious deliriums that preach hate to different people. Only the action, not beliefs or thoughts which can be punished”, underlines a sentence from the Supreme Tribunal that acquitted the terrorists”.

via España se ha convertido ya en la principal cantera de terroristas islamistas en Europa – 20minutos.es.

Not only Al-Qaeda has menaced Spain, even if 20 minutos (leftist) forgets to tell it. Hamas has repeatedly also menaced Europe in general and Spain in particular. Palestinians organizations (including Hamas, but not only) have also menaced Europe with “the Muslim minority” living here, specially after Israeli Operation Cast Lead.

Anyway, Jihadi menace has been growing for Spain since March 11th, a good proof that appeasement (and important quantities of State money given away to Islamic organizations in the name of “State’s religious neutrality”) does not produce any results in counter-terrorism and something President Obama should take good note of.
