Judge Baltasar Garzón has freed María Choubina, arrested some days ago in Granada with her boyfriend, army soldier Christian Peso Ruiz Coello, for editing and posting in the web Jihadist videos in which they called for the commission of terrorist attacks in Spain.

The soldier has not been able to appear before the National Court’s judge because he is in hospital since he was arrested. Apparently he suffers from a mental illness, according to process’ sources.

Grazón, as petitioned by the Prosecutor Carlos Bautista, has freed the detained woman. She is obliged only to point an adress, because, even if it has been proved that they both edited and posted the videos in the web, they can’t be charged with terrorism.
The prosecutor believes they constitute only menaces without links to terrorism.

In my opinion, there are two kwy points:

• why if he is mentally ill, he was in the Army instead of having left it or being obliged to?
• it’s not terrorism as they don’t belong to any terrorist gang and it’s not treason because they actually did not fight for a foreign Army. Terrorists can’t be considered as the army of any country, as the criminal law can’t be applied to other situations than those described exactly in them. Then they will be charged with non-terrorist menaces and that’s all. Speaking about the accurateness of anti-terrorist legislation…

THE Pakistan Government and Islamic hardliners have signed an agreement to enforce sharia law in the northwestern Swat valley, a provincial minister says.

“Today an agreement has been signed between the government of NWFP (North West Frontier Province) and Maulana Soofi Mohammed,” provincial information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said.

“All laws against sharia will be abolished and sharia will be enforced under this justice system.”

The agreement will cover Pakistan’s northwest Malakand area, one of the districts of NWFP and of which the troubled Swat valley is a part.

Take my word this is first successful step of Taliban’s in Pakistan and in coming days we will see the some more steps similar to like these from Pakistan government,  as all these truce policies between Taliban’s and Pakistan government will give more strengths to Jihadist and will make Pakistan so called democratic government more weaker.

I agree, and the perspectives in a country with nuclear weapons do not make me smile really…

Wonder how, if they are supporting the enforcing of Shariah Law in one of its regions, where even the boys and girls have their lies threatened if they go to school.

Just a brief note as a conclusion: Swat valley is the same place where 175 schools have been exploded or burnt in the past months, and where the Talibans have menaced the boys and girls, threatening them with death if they went to school. Two girls were burnt with acid as they were going to school some weeks ago.

Poland has joined the ranks of countries accusing Pakistan of inaction, if not outright complicity in terrorist activity, following the beheading last week of a Polish national by the Pakistani Taliban.

In a furious response that has stunned the international diplomatic community, Polish justice minister Andrzej Czuma on Monday blamed Pakistan’s ”apathy” in tackling terrorism for the killing of a Polish geologist who was kidnapped by the Pakistani Taliban from Attock town in Punjab.

“The structure of the Pakistani government is behind this apathy. The Pakistani authorities encourage these bandits,” Czuma told a Polish news agency, even as the horrific killing recalled the similar beheading of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

You can see the video here. It’s not the complete video, though, as the ending (terrible ending) has only been posted in several jihadist websites. Piotr Stanczak was a geologian, kidnapped some time ago in Punjab and before beheading him, he was made to chant the “marvellous things” Islam has.

Neither he, nor the millions who were shocked by his murder, could have possibly predicted that seven years later his abductor, Omar Saeed Sheikh, according to several South Asian reports, would be planning terror acts from the safety of a Pakistani jail. Or that his murderer, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, now in Guantanamo, would proudly boast of his murder in a military tribunal in March 2007 to the cheers of sympathetic jihadi supporters. Or that this ideology of barbarism would be celebrated in European and American universities, fueling rally after rally for Hamas, Hezbollah and other heroes of “the resistance.” Or that another kidnapped young man, Israeli Gilad Shalit, would spend his 950th day of captivity with no Red Cross visitation while world leaders seriously debate whether his kidnappers deserve international recognition.

Five years after March 11th, which made Spain a target of the Islamist terror, Interior Minister has stated that “Spain is now a source of Human Resources for future terrorists”, “situated in the 1st place in the ranking of their preferred recruitement’s places for Al-Qaeda’s recruitment in Europe, and, at the same time, it continues to be a target of international terrorism”.

Moreover, in the last report from National Police and Civil Guard in the subject to the Interior Minister, Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, it’s underlined that the true objective of Al-Qaeda is to “submit Al-Andalus”.

Since March 11th, State Security Forces have detained 384 alleged Islamist terrorists.

Some of the them had the objective of recruiting, teaching, training and sending mujahidins to Irak. Others only did “apology of terrorism or defense and proud display of extremist ideas”, according to the counterterrorist sources of the National Police, or they just financed Jihad by sending money from Spain, for example, using the zakat or alms obtained thank to mosques.

Spanish Confederation of Police (CEP) points out that, in these last years, around 4 muslim residents in Spain per month have gone to Iraq, Chcchenya or Afghanistan, to get training, a number that is reduced to a “hundred” since March 11th 2004 bombings, by the antiterrorist services.

Most of the Islamist terrorist choose the Muslim communities in Catalonia to create sleeping cells. 80% of the police operations have taken place in Catalonia and 31% of the 130 Islamists who are now in prison were arrested in Catalonia.

The number of arrests have descended (108 in 2005, 56 in 2006, 47 in 2007, 65 in 2008), but Ceuta y Melilla, Andalucía, Madrid y Valencia, are other important Jihadist places in Spain.

“We can’t forget that Al Qaeda always points out Ceuta y Melilla in their statements as a consideration to their satellite groups, Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and Islamic Moroccan Combatant Group (GICM)”, according to the same sources.

Even if there have been 384 arrested, only 130 are now in prison (33%) Why? “In terrorism matters, prevention is fundamental”, according to police sources, “even if judges do not think the same”.

The National Court has established that “Jihadist terrorism has some peculiarities which makes it difficult to apply the jurisprudence laid on other terrorist cases”, according to the last report of the Judicial Power.” A democratic State cannot punish religious deliriums that preach hate to different people. Only the action, not beliefs or thoughts which can be punished”, underlines a sentence from the Supreme Tribunal that acquitted the terrorists”.

Not only Al-Qaeda has menaced Spain, even if 20 minutos (leftist) forgets to tell it. Hamas has repeatedly also menaced Europe in general and Spain in particular. Palestinians organizations (including Hamas, but not only) have also menaced Europe with “the Muslim minority” living here, specially after Israeli Operation Cast Lead.

Anyway, Jihadi menace has been growing for Spain since March 11th, a good proof that appeasement (and important quantities of State money given away to Islamic organizations in the name of “State’s religious neutrality”) does not produce any results in counter-terrorism and something President Obama should take good note of.
